Tarkyn Lockyer assesses the performance of every player in the VFL Magpie win over Port Melbourne
The VFL Magpies led for the entire day to break Port's previously undefeated streak of 28 games.
It was Tarkyn Lockyer's second win of the season with the team now sitting just outside the top eight.
"We have played good footy over the last few weeks but have been unable to keep it together for four quarters," Lockyer told collingwoodfc.com.au.
"Today we did that and I couldn't be prouder of the boys.
"Looking at the names on paper, it wasn't our best side out there today but we showed intent for the contest and won the contested footy.
" Tom Young and Marley Williams controlled the midfield for most of the day with skipper Kris Pendlebury maintaining the structure down back while providing plenty of run. "
After making his AFL debut and notching consecutive matches, Kirk Ugle was lively up forward booting three goals along with Irish recruit Caolan Mooney.
Collingwood will aim for its second straight win when it hosts Bendigo next Saturday afternoon at Victoria Park.

VFL head coach Tarkyn Lockyer on every player
15. Jarrod Wiits (11 disposals, 5 marks, 2 tackles): Played mainly ruck and in the forward line. He was injured a little bit earlier in the year but over the last couple of weeks he has been great.
25. Tom Young (27 disposals, 4 marks, 9 tackles): Really explosive and used the ball well. His inside work was terrific.
Shae McNamara battles for the footy down back.
29. John Ceglar (8 disposals, 1 goal, 7 tackles): Shared the ruck duties with Witts and competed.
33. Jackson Paine (8 disposals, 1 goal): Unfortunately he was injured in the second quarter but should be right in a week or so.
35. Jamie Elliott (12 disposals, 3 marks, 6 tackles): OK without being outstanding. Has a touch of class in everything he does but just needs to find more of the footy.
37. Kirk Ugle (17 disposals, 3 goals, 4 tackles): Played him up the ground a bit more and was damaging.
Jarrod Witts aims for front position from the throw in.
41. Daniel Farmer (12 disposals, 4 marks, 1 goal): Was his first game this year. Given his lack of preparation I thought he did quite well.
43. Trent Stubbs (25 disposals, 2 goals, 5 tackles): Played mainly through the midfield. Had a really good game.
44. Corey Gault (9 disposals, 3 marks, 1 goal): Played as a key forward. Led up at the ball well and his follow up work was strong.
45. Lachlan Smith (9 disposals, 5 tackles): Played back, tall and small. Did his job.
Development coach Mitch Hahn clears the footy from the pack.
46. Marley Williams (26 disposals, 4 marks, 8 tackles): Played a really good game. His run and carry was important. Looked really damaging.
48. Caolan Mooney (11 disposals, 3 goals, 3 tackles): Played forward. He is going to kick a bag at some stage.
49. Paul Cribbin (18 disposals, 6 marks, 3 tackles): Served us well in defence.
50. Shae McNamara (12 disposals, 3 tackles): Good with his spoiling down back.
51. Kris Pendlebury (22 disposals, 6 marks): Has had an outstanding start to the year and continued it on Saturday.
52. Mitch Hahn (16 disposals, 2 tackles): His second game of the year and looked more comfortable. Played through the midfield.
53. Jack Hellier (11 disposals, 2 tackles): His in and under work was strong. Played on ball.
57. Matt Boland (13 disposals, 1 goal): Although he only kicked one goal he did some really nice things up forward.
58. Lachlan Wallace (23 disposals 9 marks, 2 tackles): Terrific down back. Numerous times cut the ball off.
59. Nick Riddle (16 disposals, 7 marks): Played on Galea and kept him to one goal.
64. Ricky Ferraro (25 disposals, 5 marks, 1 goal): In and under work was good. Not flashy but is hard at it.
68. Sam Williams (10 disposals): Had eight kicks with all proving effective.
