Harry’s ready to Romp – are you?
On Sunday, March 25 Harry O’Brien will join up to 10,000 Melburnians for an amazing race style scavenger hunt through the city.
Held to raise much needed funds for the Burnet Institute, the Melbourne City Romp takes participants to a combination of over 60 iconic Melbourne venues - including the Westpac Centre!
Given the Club and Harry’s involvement in this year’s event, all Collingwood Football Club members are entitled to a 20% discount on entry for the Melbourne City Romp.
What exactly is the Romp?
Part treasure hunt, part Amazing Race, part puzzle, the Melbourne City Romp is a charity fundraising event like no other. Armed with a map, clue sheet and mobile phone, teams of 2-6 Rompers attempt to solve challenges at checkpoints located at iconic venues and quirky locations across Melbourne.
Teams have four hours in which they face a range of challenges involving trivia, history, mathematics, geography, observation and physical endeavours. You never know…you may even find yourself singing the Collingwood theme song at the Westpac Centre!
Why is the Romp held?
Each year a staggering 11 million people, mostly young children, lose their lives to infectious diseases, many of which are preventable. The Romp is held annually to raise much needed funds for the Burnet Institute’s fight against The “Big Three” - HIV, malaria and TB.
Why is Harry romping?
Harry has been a Youth Ambassador for the Burnet Institute since 2008. He is passionate about the Institute’s work, and works with the Romp team to assist the Burnet Institute in raising much needed funds for their fight against The “Big Three” - HIV, malaria and TB.
