Collingwood star trio Alan Didak, Scott Pendlebury and Dane Swan have been nominated, by their peers, for the AFL Player’s Association Most Valuable Player Award.?

The AFLPA MVP Awards, which are to be held on Monday night in Melbourne, are fast becoming one of the most respected and prestigious awards in football.

Each player votes 3-2-1 for their teammates for the Leigh Matthews Trophy for Most Valuable Player.  With three nominations from every club, players are then asked to vote for 3-2-1 for the most valuable player who is not their teammate.??

Each player also nominates one teammate for the Robert Rose Award for Most Courageous Player and the Best First-Year Player.  All 16 club captains are automatically nominated for the Best Captain Award.

Joining the trio as Collingwood nominations is Luke Ball, who was nominated as the club’s most courageous player, while youngster Josh Thomas was nominated for the best first-year player award. ?

The AFLPA MVP Awards are the only awards determined by players themselves.

The winner will be announced on Monday 6 September at Melbourne’s Crown Palladium and will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 from 9.30pm.
