Collingwood's performance at the Brownlow Medal
All you need to know about Collingwood's performance at the 2012 Brownlow Medal.
* In its six losses during the home and away season, Collingwood polled only four of a possible 36 votes.
* Dane Swan has now polled three votes in 24 of his 177 home and away matches, including six in 2012 (after polling five best on grounds in 2011).
* Despite winning 40 disposals against Geelong in round 16, Swan was unable to poll a single vote, with Scott Pendlebury, Dayne Beams and Heath Shaw shining in the eyes of the umpires.
* There was no room for Pendlebury amongst the votes in the Magpies’ first round loss to Hawthorn, even though he ended the night with 33 possessions, six tackles and two goals.
* After nine rounds, Pendlebury had 12 votes to his name. But after cracking his tibia against Gold Coast the following week, he only received another three in his remaining eight games.
* In the 12 games between rounds nine and 21, Beams received 18 votes and failed to poll in only four. The 22-year-old received three best on grounds against Adelaide, West Coast, Geelong and Sydney. It means he has received three votes twice against the Swans, as he polled his first batch of three in round 21, 2009.
* Of the 16 Collingwood players to poll in 2011, 10 backed it up again in 2012. Those who failed to poll this season included Luke Ball, Andrew Krakouer, Ben Johnson, Ben Reid, Chris Tarrant and Leon Davis.
* The Magpies had 11 players poll in 2012, their least since 2007.
