Collingwood’s Ben Reid has been awarded a perfect 10 for his best on ground effort in the club’s 41-point win over Hawthorn at the MCG on Sunday afternoon.
Reid's career-high 31 disposals and 11 marks were highlighted by the two head coaches in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year voting. It’s the second time the 22-year-old has polled this year and has moved in a tie for seventh on the club leader board.
Travis Cloke’s hot streak continues with the forward the next-best placed Magpie polling five votes with a season-high 12 marks to go with three goals. Cloke has now polled 24 votes from his last three games.
Vice-captain Scott Pendlebury’s sixth game with 30 disposals or more earned three votes from the coaches and has polled in seven matches this year, the most of any Magpie.
Defenders Harry O’Brien and Chris Tarrant both received two votes each while last year’s competition winner Dane Swan earned one vote in his 33-disposal game.
Hawthorn’s skipper Luke Hodge was rewarded for his 40-disposal performance with seven votes from the coaches.
Past winners of the prestigious award include Gary Ablett Jnr (2007-09), Simon Goodwin and Adam Goodes (joint winners in 2006), Barry Hall (2005) and Warren Tredrea (2004).
