Round one (Saturday 26 March - FOX): Collingwood v Port Adelaide, Etihad Stadium (home), 2.10pm?

Round two (Saturday 2 April - TEN): North Melbourne v Collingwood, Etihad Stadium (away), 2.10pm
The first of two encounters against Brad Scott’s men in season 2011.  The Pies have shown they know how to contain the men from Arden Street, smashing the Roos by an average of 59 points in their last two meetings.

Round three (Friday 8 April - SEVEN): Collingwood v Carlton, MCG (home), 7.40pm
The Magpies return to the MCG for the first time since their premiership win. The club’s first legitimate blockbuster of the season taking on archrivals Carlton on Friday night under the lights.  The Magpie Army watching at home will be forced to endure 180 minutes of Cometti oozing love for the Blues skipper.  In other words, make sure you get to the game.??Recent record: WWWL

Round four (Friday 15 April - SEVEN): Richmond v Collingwood, MCG (away), 7.40pm

A consecutive clash on Friday night sees the Pies take on last year’s 15th-placed side, the Tigers.  It will be interesting to see if an upgrade in Punt Road facilities will aid Richmond’s cause in 2011.

Recent record: WW

Round five (Monday 25 April - TEN): Essendon v Collingwood, MCG (away), 2.40pm

After the debacle in 2009, Magpie supporters enjoyed retribution last year with a 65-point smashing.  The win saw the Pies take an 8-7 ANZAC advantage heading in 2011 over the Bombers. With the Dons turn to host, make sure you secure yourself a seat to this special event.

Round six (Sunday 1 May - FOX): Collingwood v Western Bulldogs, MCG (home), 4.40pm

The only Sunday twilight match of the year for the Pies with the AFL scheduling this home match against the Dogs at the MCG, not under the roof as in seasons past. Always an interesting battle between two top-four sides and the only time these two play against each other this year.

Round 8 (Friday 13 May - SEVEN): Geelong v Collingwood, MCG (away), 7.40pm

Fresh off the break, Collingwood gets its first crack at the new-look Cats, minus Thompson and Ablett and led by coach Chris Scott.  The West Gate will be chockablock with half of Geelong pilling into the MCG.

Round 9 (Sunday 22 May - FOX): Collingwood v Adelaide, Etihad Stadium (home), 1.10pm
Make sure you jot down the time of this one as the early start might catch a few punters off guard.  The only contest against Neil Craig’s men, who finished a disappointing 11th last season.

Round 10 (Sunday 29 May - SEVEN): Collingwood v West Coast, MCG (home), 2.10pm
Taking on last year’s wooden spoon side that have three picks in the top 30 in next month’s draft. No doubt Worsfold will field a young side looking to experience the MCG against the reigning premiers.

Round 11 (Saturday 4 June - TEN): Collingwood v St Kilda, MCG (home), 7.10pm

We have to wait 11 rounds before we can see last year’s two grand finalists meet in season 2011.  The match looms as an excellent test for both sides heading into the second half of the year.  What will Malthouse do with Fisher?  Will Maxwell run free?  The intrigue and hype will build in the lead up to Saturday night.

Recent record: WDWLLL

Round 12 (Monday 13 June - TEN): Melbourne v Collingwood, MCG (away), 2.10pm
The Queen’s Birthday match will feature two young sides aiming to take the four points in front of a national audience.  The two results in 2010 saw a one-point win and a draw, so expect it to be close.  Pies face their final bye next weekend.

A rematch of round three before the Pies fly north.

Round 18 (Saturday 23 July - FOX): Gold Coast v Collingwood, Gold Coast Stadium (away), 7.10pm
Not surprising the AFL sends the 2010 premiers up north.  A boost in ratings and attendance should make it a grand affair in Ablett’s new hood.

James Hird will have another crack at the black and white stripes.

Round 20 (Saturday 6 August - TEN): Port Adelaide v Collingwood, AAMI Stadium (away), 7.10pm

Final match at Etihad Stadium in home-and-away season.
