In response to the release today of the 2011 AFL fixture, Collingwood's CEO Gary Pert was extremely pleased with the schedule which he states is a great result for not only the football department but also the supporters.

“Maintaining a fixture of 18 games in Melbourne is fantastic for the club and I’m sure the Magpie Army will enjoy the fact that no interstate games in the first half of the season means they will be able to maintain their energy from last year’s Premiership win,” said Pert.

“Collingwood will play 14 games at its home ground, the MCG, including 11 blockbuster games against traditional rivals including St Kilda, Geelong, Essendon, Carlton, Richmond and Hawthorn.
“Collingwood will use the Carlton blockbuster game in round 3 to unfurl the Premiership Flag at the MCG in front of its home ground crowd.”
