It was one of the games of the year, and perhaps the best ANZAC Day match since the famous draw in the inaugural match back in 1995.

Heading into the match with two wins and two losses, Collingwood met a rampaging Essendon that had begun the year with four straight victories.

The Magpies led for most of the day, thanks to the brilliance of ANZAC Medallist Dane Swan, but looked like squandering the win after a late goal to Essendon's Brent Stanton.

A quick-thinking Jarryd Blair saved the day with a soccer off the ground in the goal square in the frenetic final minutes.
