Collingwood midfielder Scott Pendlebury has been substituted from the Magpies' game against Gold Coast shortly after half-time after appearing to injure his knee in a first-quarter collision.

Pendlebury limped from the ground in the opening minutes of Sunday's game after colliding with Suns midfielder Josh Caddy at a centre stoppage.

Pendlebury was taken into Collingwood's rooms to be assessed but returned to the ground at the 10-minute mark.

Two minutes later, he won a centre clearance, took off and kicked a long bomb that set up a Travis Cloke mark and goal.

Pendlebury had 17 possessions up to half-time and appeared to move without any discomfort.

The Magpies play Melbourne next Monday.
