Pies sparkle at training
Collingwood has flown through its final run before Saturday's decider with Darren Jolly looking a certain starter
COLLINGWOOD appears set to go into the 2011 Toyota AFL Grand Final as named after suspect duo Darren Jolly and Ben Reid both completed training at Gosch's Paddock on Friday morning.
Jolly (groin) and Reid (leg) were both under an injury cloud after pulling up lame in the Magpies' narrow preliminary final win over Hawthorn, but got through training on Wednesday unscathed and moved freely in the club's final run before the decider against Geelong.
Emergencies Tyson Goldsack, Cameron Wood and Ben Sinclair trained with the team, while Simon Buckley, Brent Macaffer and John McCarthy, who weren't named in the final 22 or as emergencies, also joined in part of the session.
Hard-luck story Dayne Beams, who was the only change to the team that overcame the Hawks last weekend, didn't make an appearance in Mick Malthouse's last training as senior coach of the club.
Beams, a member of Collingwood's 2010 premiership-winning team, trained on Wednesday but tearfully withdrew from the team to take on the Cats on Thursday because of a groin complaint.
The 21-year-old was replaced in the team by livewire Alex Fasolo.
