A large crowd gathered to watch Collingwood go through its paces during its final training session of the week before taking on arch rival Carlton at the MCG on Friday night.

The supporters witnessed Nick Maxwell, Sharrod Wellingham and Cameron Wood in full flight as they pressed their case for their first games of the season.

Also out on the track was Heath Shaw, who last night announced that he has signed on as a Magpie for at least another three seasons.

Nathan Brown, Alan Didak and Ben Johnson were all absent from Thursday's training session.
