The AFL Match Review Panel has assessed incidents involving Collingwood's Luke Ball, Alan Toovey and Nick Maxwell from Saturday's match against Hawthorn and deemed them acceptable meaning all three Magpies are available for this week's qualifying final.

The incidents involving Maxwell and Toovey had insufficient video evidence and were thus ruled out, while Ball's defender, Hawthorn's Michael Osbourne, shepherd in a legal manner.

Please find the official wording from the MRP below.

Contact between Hawthorn’s Brendan Whitecross and Collingwood’s Nick Maxwell from the second quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. The panel said that, based on the video evidence that was available and after receiving a medical report, there was insufficient evidence to determine if a reportable offence had occurred. No further action was taken.

Contact between Collingwood’s Alan Toovey and Hawthorn’s Michael Osborne from the second quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. The panel said that, based on the video evidence that was available and after receiving a medical report, there was insufficient evidence to determine if a reportable offence had occurred. No further action was taken.

Contact between Hawthorn’s Michael Osborne and Collingwood’s Luke Ball from the fourth quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. The panel said that player Ball attempted to tackle Hawthorn’s Sam Mitchell. Player Osborne came in to shepherd for his teammate and it was the view of the panel that the Hawthorn player did not have a realistic alternative to contest the football or to tackle. The shepherding action was not considered to be a reportable offence and no further action was taken.
