On Tuesday 5th May Collingwood will travel to four Victorian country areas as part of its agreement with the AFL to help foster the growth of the game in regional areas.

The majority of the playing list will depart via bus or plane on Tuesday morning to regions including Swan Hill, Traralgon, Portland and Horsham.

Over the course of the day, the players will separate into various groups to travel to nearby schools and local footy ovals to conduct clinics and visit school children.

Midfielder Scott Pendlebury is traveling to Traralgon with a contingent of teammates.

“I am looking forward to heading down with a few of the boys and meeting the local youth,” Pendlebury told collingwoodfc.com.au on Monday afternoon.

“These visits are always a good opportunity to get away with a few teammates, have a laugh and help out the local communities.”

Pendlebury and his teammates will travel by bus over 150 kilometers to Traralgon where they will conduct clinics with the local football club.

“Having a few extra days off will help us freshen up for next Monday’s game.

“Getting away tomorrow will add an additional benefit to the playing group.”
