Maxwell nears return
Nick Maxwell could be back playing sooner than first anticipated from the fractured wrist he sustained in the round two win over Carlton.
On the club's injury list, the Collingwood captain has been listed as being only 2-3 weeks away from resuming, meaning that he could be back playing as soon as the round eight clash with Geelong at the MCG.

At the time of his injury, Maxwell was expected to miss between 6-8 weeks.
"I'm sure that Nick, being the professional he is, will do everything he possibly can to be back as early as possible," Director of Football Geoff Walsh told collingwoodfc.com.au on 10 April.
In other injury news, veteran Ben Johnson will have his calf soreness tested by the medical staff again this week. He has been absent from Collingwood’s last two matches with the ailment and was originally slated to play in the VFL last Friday but withdrew before the match.
Last year’s Copeland Trophy winner Dayne Beams is still 2-3 weeks away from resuming from a quad injury as is ex-Hawk Clinton Young (hamstring), while Alan Toovey will miss the remainder of 2013 due to the ACL injury sustained in the dying minutes of Thursday’s loss to Essendon.
