Star ruck-rover Scott Pendlebury told CTV that the key to Port Adelaide’s victory over the Magpies on Saturday evening was its pressure around the ball.

It is an area that Collingwood usually prides itself on but to contend with against the Power.

The Magpies lost the contested possessions 134 to Port’s 147 and was beaten at the stoppages, winning only 27 clearances to the Power’s 39 despite breaking even in the ruck (28 hitouts to 30).

“We sort of got beaten by their pressure tonight. They’re a completely different football side to (what they were in the past),” Pendlebury told CTV.

“They probably worked harder and pressured better around the footy so it’s something to address before Carlton on Friday night.”
