Collingwoodfc.com.au looks at the performances of some of the players who may warrant your votes in the Magpie Army Player of the Year Award following the 21-point loss to Adelaide in round nine.

Collingwood’s top performers
10. Scott Pendlebury
Statistics: 9 kicks, 1 mark, 24 handballs, 33 disposals, 7 clearances, 5 tackles, 4 inside 50s, 5 rebound 50s
A consistent four-quarter performer who drove the Magpies both inside attacking fifty and out of defence with great regularity. Eighteen of his 33 disposals were won in a contest.

41. Tom Langdon
Statistics: 13 kicks, 8 marks, 10 handballs, 23 disposals, 7 rebound 50s, 6 tackles, 3 intercept marks
Continues to take things in his stride across half back. Took three more intercept marks, meaning just six players in the competition have taken more than his 18 across the first nine rounds. Ran the ball out of defence seven times, the most of any player on the ground.

17. Dayne Beams
Statistics: 17 kicks, 2 marks, 13 handballs, 30 disposals, 7 clearances, 6 inside 60s
In his 99th senior game, Beams won seven clearances and 15 contested possessions, ensuring Collingwood stayed competitive in the contested ball (winning that stat with 146 possessions to Adelaide’s 143).
