When the fun and festivity of the Big Freeze 4 concludes on Monday, Collingwood will have to do battle with “the best pressure team in the competition”.
This is the belief of midfielder Adam Treloar who along with teammates is preparing to clash with an in-form Melbourne side.
The Demons have won their past six games at an average margin of 66 points, and possess weapons which will challenge a Collingwood outfit also used to winning in the early stages of 2018.
Treloar believes the contested possession count may go a long way towards deciding the game on Queen’s Birthday.
“They’re a very contested ball focussed team,” Treloar told co-host Mark Allen on Collingwood Media vodcast ‘Sports Galore’.
“It’s going to be about winning the contested ball and beating them in that regard.”

The growing occasion of the Queen’s Birthday blockbuster against Melbourne is viewed as a privilege to former GWS Giant Treloar. The sense of the occasion did not hit him while playing in Sydney, yet was one of the big reasons he chose Collingwood as a new home in 2015.
Since, the midfielder has played in the last three fixtures and averages 28 disposals a game against Melbourne.
While Treloar’s form and consistency continues to rank amongst the AFL’s elite in 2018, he’s currently sharing the positive attention with another former Giant in Will Hoskin-Elliott.
The 25-year-old couldn’t be happier to see his close friend flourish.
“Will is finally getting consistency now… he’s growing into his body,” Treloar said.
“He’s turning 25, and he’s at a place where he knows he’s a gun. He’s just going to go out there and dominate.
“If anyone is going to be All-Australian at the end of the year, he surely has to be in discussions if he continues the way he’s going.”
While both Treloar and Hoskin-Elliott will be solely focussed on beating the Dees on Monday, the former on Thursday enjoyed another jovial episode of his regular vodcast.
