With a determination emerging from the AFL’s investigation into events at Greater Western Sydney in 2015, Collingwood has accepted the resignation of GM of Football, Graeme Allan.
Allan joined Collingwood from GWS in May of this year. At this time Collingwood was made aware of an independent internal investigation into the conduct of Allan and others at GWS in 2015 which found no case against any of the parties involved.
Further, Collingwood received from Allan, in the form of a statutory declaration, a satisfactory account of the events in question.
Collingwood was not aware or informed of the fact the matter was with the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority at the time of Allan’s appointment.
Regrettably, a completely unforeseen scenario has since emerged from the AFL investigation into what took place at GWS in 2015.
With Collingwood’s football program for 2017 in place, the GM of football role will be filled on an interim basis by current football operations manager, Marcus Wagner.
Wagner has been with Collingwood in senior football positions for nine years and has most recently held responsibility for AFLW, Collingwood’s academy programs and AFL operations.
A replacement will be appointed in due course.
