Key Lions to miss
Jonathan Brown is among several big-name Brisbane players that will be unavailable to take on Collingwood on Friday night.
Brown was suspended for two weeks by the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night after his attempt at downgrading a striking charge from intentional to reckless was unsuccessful.
The triple premiership forward has kicked 36 goals in 17 games against Collingwood since 2001, including 11 in his past three encounters.
Other key Lions that are set to miss include Matthew Leuenberger (thumb) and Tom Rockliff (quad strain) who each sustained injuries in Saturday night’s loss to Carlton, while Claye Beams (knee), Daniel Rich (shoulder), Matt Maguire (shin) and Stefan Martin (ankle) have been sidelined for some time.
It will be the first time Rockliff has missed a senior game in two years.
Full back Daniel Merrett will miss due to a suspension that was incurred for a sling tackle against Essendon’s Michael Hurley in round eight.
Collingwood's injury list includes names such as Dayne Beams, Alex Fasolo, Lachlan Keeffe, Tyson Goldsack, Dale Thomas, Alan Toovey and Clinton Young.
