The retirements of several established veterans, and the trading of Josh Fraser to the Gold Coast Suns, had already trimmed the Magpies' list but club officials have made further alterations on Friday's first list lodgement.
However three existing players - Jarryd Blair, Lachlan Keeffe and NSW scholarship holder Tom Young - have been elevated from the current list and will earn beefier contracts as a result of their impressive progress.
As expected, the Pies cut Anthony Corrie, Jarrad Blight, Ryan Cook and Jaxson Barham.
The quartet joined retiring veterans Tarkyn Lockyer, Shane O’Bree and Paul Medhurst, while Sean Rusling also hung up his boots at the end of the season after succumbing to his battle with persistent injury.
Rookies Tristan Francis and Jack Carter will also look for new homes.
Collingwood football manager Geoff Walsh said each player on the Pies' list had played a part in the club's recent success.
"We wish to thank all the players for the contributions they have made to the club during their time here and we wish them every success in the future," Walsh said.
Walsh is in Ireland with coach Mick Malthouse as part of Australia's International Rules tour, and the pair may well be returning with one of the locals after the Pies confirmed their club's Irish experiment - after going into hiatus in 2010 - would continue next season.
Collingwood has signed Paul Cribbin on an international rookie contract for next season. Cribbin trialled with Melbourne early last year but returned to play with County Kildare in 2010.
