Blair soars to new heights
Collingwood premiership player Jarryd Blair rose to new heights yesterday with the help of world shot put champion Reese Hoffa
Collingwood’s shortest player soared to new heights on Tuesday with the help of world shot put champion Reese Hoffa.
Jarryd Blair, weighing in at 80 kilograms, was used by Hoffa as a training weight in preparation for Thursday night's Melbourne Track Classic at Olympic Park.
The 145-kilogram American had little trouble hoisting the premiership star.
“I put several kilograms on over the preseason which was a directive from the fitness staff,” Blair told CTV after the event.
“Reese, the big unit, didn’t have any issues with it.
“I am used to climbing to those heights when I take a big mark so I didn’t have any trouble with the height.”
The track event kicks off at 7pm and boasts an international start list that includes Olympic medallists, world record holders and world champions. Tickets can be purchased through Tickettek here.
