Collingwood has launched a Bushfire Relief Auction as part of a range of initiatives in support of relief and recovery efforts for the devastating Australian bushfires.
The Bushfire Relief Auction will host a range of prized items and experiences for supporters of Collingwood’s AFL, AFLW and Super Netball teams, with all funds raised going directly to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
Fans have the opportunity to purchase extraordinary inner-sanctum training and match-day experiences, as well as signed boots and guernseys, all while donating towards practical relief and recovery efforts in fire-affected communities.
Collingwood CEO Mark Anderson said the Bushfire Relief Auction is the latest initiative uniting the club’s supporters, players, staff and partners in support of bushfire relief efforts.
“It is heartbreaking to see the impact that the bushfires are having on communities in Victoria and around Australia,” Anderson said.
“Our players and staff have created this auction as one way to provide support for those affected by the bushfires.
“We know that the recovery effort will be significant, and the club is looking at a number of initiatives to contribute to the relief effort in a meaningful way.”
The auction of Dayne Beams’ 2010 premiership medal saw $27,500 raised for the cause, while the club is also working with the Gippsland community to ensure that Collingwood’s AFLW and Marsh Community Series matches in Morwell will provide as much support to fire-affected families as possible.
In addition, the club is supporting both the AFL and Netball Australia on the league-wide initiatives including the AFL State of Origin match in February as well as the Australian Diamonds and Super Netball All Stars match in March.
Any Collingwood members who are affected by the Australian bushfires are also encouraged to contact the club via community@collingwoodfc.com.au for more information on support packages.
Bidding is now open for the Bushfire Relief Auction and will close from 5pm Tuesday 21 January. To place a bid or find out more, click here.

The club would also like to acknowledge the auction platform SportsTG, who have waived extra fees and charges allowing all funds to go directly to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
