Last Week's Events
It was great to see the legendary Fantasy Pig Dane Swan (MID, $536,000) back to his best with a team high 105 from 31 disposals. Mr Reliable, Scott Pendlebury (MID, $612,000) also managed to knock up a ton with 104 and Jarryd Blair (FWD, $413,000) kicked two goals on his way to 102. After receiving a lot of pre-season hype, Steele Sidebottom (MID, $602,000) was certainly living up to expectation, absolutely dominating before succumbing to a broken thumb on 88. It is a cruel blow that will now cost Sitebottom owners a trade this week as he is expected to miss six weeks.
On The Radar
Crisis creates opportunity and with injuries cruelling the midfield, look for some young guns to step up and fill the void. After an impressive score of 83 from Taylor Adams (FWD/MID, $409,000) vs the Lions, look for him to take even more responsibility and continue to improve his Fantasy worth. It may also pave the way for an increase in opportunity for Jordan De Goey (MID, $267,000) who spent a significant amount of the game in a green vest before coming on late for 13 points.
What’s Coming Up?
Last time the Pies played the Crows it was Steele Sidebottom and Dayne Beams who were the only players to reach 100. On that day, Pendles was tagged for a score of 97, but expect him to embrace the challenge and score well, as he did in 2013 with a massive score of 153 against Adelaide. Swanny did not play the Crows in their most recent match-up but he has an amazing history of scoring well against them with 10 out of his last 13 games registering a score over 100.
