The Collingwood Football Club is seeking an experienced graphic designer to create dynamic, brand aligned design for websites and a range of digital and print marketing communications produced by Collingwood Media, the central communications department for the club. This position plays a vital role as a member of the award-winning communications creative team.
Based amongst our High Performance culture, working on Australia’s biggest sporting brand, and as part of motivated and passionate team, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to combine your passion for sporting brands with your outstanding creative graphic design skills.
This role will be responsible for:
- Creating and producing original brand-aligned designs for websites and other digital communications on a variety of platforms, including mobile, tablet, and social media
- Creating original brand-aligned designs for print communications
- Creating design concepts, comps, and development- and production-ready files for digital and print communications
- Developing and presenting concept sketches or storyboards to internal and external stakeholders
- Working collaboratively with Collingwood Media and the GM Marketing to successfully integrate design to meet marketing communications objectives and industry and institutional standards for accessibility and usability
- Act as the in-house photographer for a range of club activities
- Brainstorm and participate as part of creative teams that include other designers, developers, writers, editors, producers, videographers, and others
The successful applicant will need to have:
- Formal qualifications in Graphic Design, Commercial Art or related field (Bachelor level or above)
- Extensive experience working in an autonomous graphic design role at a mid / senior level
- Previous experience working in an environment that was progressively developing and stretching the design concepts
- An ability to create innovative new design ideas and to bring create ideas to the table to influence stakeholders
- Proven experience creating and producing designs for the web and other digital environments
- Proficiency in Adobe CS6 InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Knowledge of and experience in design and layout principles, including typography
- Demonstrated understanding of marketing and branding principles
- Ability to balance creativity and detail-oriented work in a deadline-driven environment, to learn new skills quickly, and to collaborate effectively as part of a team
