Scott Pendlebury's reputation as one of the AFL's most consistent players is well-deserved, and this week he has the chance to join a Collingwood teammate as the record-holder of an appropriate statistical streak.
If Pendlebury can come away with 20 or more disposals against Essendon on Anzac Day, he will join Dane Swan as the only men to have played the most consecutive games (58) with such a possession haul.
Swan memorably dragged the Magpies back into the 2014 ANZAC Day game with 26 possessions and four classy goals. Pendlebury himself had 30 disposals that day.
Travis Cloke will join former Bomber Matthew Lloyd on Saturday in having played the most consecutive Anzac Day games with 10 apiece.
Not surprisingly, Dustin Fletcher has played the most of these epic contests overall, a grand total of 17, including the first back in 1995.
