Travis Cloke registered 167 kicks in his 17 games this season.

Of those, 94 were deemed to be ‘long’ kicks by the league’s official statistics provider, Champion Data.

Broken down by percentage, a whopping 56.3 per cent of his kicks were ‘long’ – the most of any of his Collingwood teammates. In fact, it is more than any player in the competition to have played eight or more games this year.

What does all this mean?

If nothing else, it indicates that he will start as one of the favourites in Fox Footy’s Longest Kick competition on Grand Final day.

This Saturday, Cloke will join Dustin Fletcher (Essendon), Matthew Pavlich (Fremantle), Drew Petrie (North Melbourne), Bernie Vince (Melbourne), Jake Stringer (Western Bulldogs), Tom Hawkins (Geelong), Brendan Fevola (ex-Carlton and Brisbane), Alex Rance (Richmond) and Taylor Walker (Adelaide) as they attempt to boot the Sherrin across Melbourne’s Yarra River.

It’s a 75-metre journey, so the players will need to have their boots laced up extra tight.

The Longest Kick competition will take place at Birrarung Marr on Grand Final morning, with Fox Footy hosts Jason Dunstall, Danny Frawley, Ben Dixon and Alastair Lynch to oversee proceedings.

Head down to Birraung Marr to watch Cloke battle it out with some of the game’s super boots as they warm up the town ahead of the first bounce at the MCG at 2.30pm.
