Have you ever tried to explain the crazy game of AFL to someone who’s never seen a match?

That’s the exciting challenge being asked of Collingwood fans in a new trial aimed at showcasing our game to international visitors. 

SportsHosts is currently seeking a small group of supporters interested in hosting the full Aussie football experience to a small group of international travellers.

Participants will receive complimentary match tickets for our round 19 match against West Coast on Saturday 30 July.

The SportsHosts initiative is a great way for visitors to Melbourne to experience the city firsthand the way a local would, which of course includes a trip to the mighty MCG for an AFL match.

For Collingwood members and supporters, it provides a golden chance to showcase the full game day experience and rituals with international travellers.

The opportunity is a great way to meet new international friends and explain ‘kicking it through the big sticks’ to people who have never even heard of Aussie Rules. It’s also a great way to develop your own global sports network, so the next time you travel you can see sports with people you know on the other side of the world.
