Scott Pendlebury addresses the White team during the match simulation.
Collingwood has completed its last competitive hit-out before round one with a 60-minute intra-club match at the Holden Centre.
Complete with umpires and winter conditions, the football season had never felt closer as players took part in the 18-per side contest.
Ben Reid, Jeremy Howe and Tyson Goldsack lined up on a Black team full of players returning from interrupted preseason programs.
All three completed the session without disruption. Reid played predominantly at centre half-back, while Howe and Goldsack spent time in the forwardline.
Jeremy Howe takes a shot on goal during the match simulation.
“I was playing the majority of the time deep forward,” Howe told Collingwood Media.
“I didn’t get too much time up the ground, but I was alternating through the forward line… Moving forward I assume I’ll be getting a bit of wing, forward time.”
Another Magpie short on minutes during the pre-season has been Tim Broomhead.
Broomhead played at half back during Friday’s intra-club, often lining up against Dane Swan.
The 21-year-old pressed onto the wing and showed a strong determination to win the football at all costs.

For the white team, Alex Fasolo and Corey Gault continued the impressive form displayed in the NAB Challenge.
The pair arguably were the stars of the Collingwood forward line in the club’s three practice matches, scoring 17 goals between them.
Both were in form once again in the wet conditions. Gault took several strong marks on the lead while Fasolo was busy as he added to his goals tally in the first period of action.
The greatest strength of the White team was no doubt its midfield.
Scott Pendlebury joined Steele Sidebottom and Adam Treloar at the centre bounces, with Jack Crisp and Jordan De Goey also rotating through the middle.
Swan played forward, but a vintage run through the middle of the ground was noteworthy in the second period as he exchanged a series of handballs with Treloar as the pair ran towards goal.

From the young brigade, Rupert Wills got his first taste of competitive action, while Tom Phillips and Brayden Sier impressed in patches.
Queensland rookie Josh Smith watched from the sidelines after running laps during the early stages of training. He was joined by Matt Scharenberg who continues to recover from a knee reconstruction.
Despite being one of the better players on the field, Treloar raised the eyebrows of onlookers when he left the track minutes before the session concluded.
Director of Football Neil Balme quickly relaxed the concern of a injury to the star recruit.
"All players got through training," Balme told Collingwood Media after the session.
"Adam Treloar left the track a couple of minutes early but he’s fine."
With their final practice match complete, the Magpies will now travel to Sydney for a round one clash against the Swans on Easter Saturday.
Ben Reid looks strong as he completes a run-through after the session.
