Collingwood midfielder Taylor Adams believes he is still three weeks away from returning from a severe hamstring injury.
Adams, who injured his left hamstring against the Western Bulldogs in round 10, took a significant step in his recovery by joining his teammates on the training track on Tuesday night.
The 22-year-old suffered some damage to the tendon in the high part of his hamstring, which added to his time on the sidelines.
"The hammy's coming along nicely but I'm still probably about three weeks away from playing," Adams told SEN radio on Wednesday morning.
"I feel like I could play next week, but with a tendon injury the physios are very cautious."
Adams said the next stage of his rehabilitation involved focusing on high-intensity efforts and sharp agility work.
"I'm running quite freely but it's just the ground ball and extension during games that I'll have to deal with," he said.
Darcy Moore (collarbone) is progressing well and is only a couple of weeks away from being available for selection.
Alex Fasolo will take slightly longer than Moore to return from a shoulder injury.
Tim Broomhead and Tom Langdon, who both suffered sydesmosis ankle damage, have been downgraded in their injury status and are nearing a return to the playing field.
Two welcome faces back on the track tonight. @AlexFasolo + @taylor_adams13 well on the road to recovery #sidebyside pic.twitter.com/S2EwomvOAb
