When no one else is watching, Adam Treloar is training.
Except this time there was an onlooker.
It was Sunday afternoon and the Holden Centre was empty as players recovered from a disappointing Friday night loss to Richmond.
However in Hampton in Melbourne’s South-East a determined figure was spotted on a local oval.
Co-host of Collingwood Media’s 'Sports Galore' and radio personality Mark Allen spotted who he thought was a talented local footballer honing his skills in the dying light of the evening.
Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be his co-host of the weekly vodcast, Magpie midfielder Treloar.
“I live right across the road from a football ground,” Allen recalled.
“And there you were practicing your kicking and practicing your shots at goal for about what seemed like 90 minutes.”
Treloar confirmed the encounter, brushing it off as just another Sunday activity with his partner Kelsey.
“My beautiful fiancé was feeding me the ball whilst I was having shots and kicking to her,” he said.
“I do that quite a bit. You just caught me this time. You’ll probably see me in the near future doing it a bit more.”
When the footballs were put away, Treloar turned his attention to the cricket pitch where Allen and his kids were playing in the nets.
“You got my seven-year-old boy out, and then did a lap of the ground celebrating,” Allen said.
