It’s time for the Big Freeze at the MCG.
Join the great Neale Daniher and the two clubs in helping create awareness of Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and raise funds for research to help find a cure.
Monday’s March to the ‘G
Collingwood is inviting all members and supporters to gather at the Glasshouse at the Holden Centre before marching over to the MCG together.
Neale Daniher will address supporters in the main event space at 1pm, before the march begins.
Daniher will be joining the Melbourne supporters on their march from Federation Square, while a host of Magpie names will be leading the way as the Collingwood faithful converge at the Glasshouse.
The Glasshouse events space will be open from 12pm.
Big Freeze 3
A group of the finest sportspeople to represent Australia will take on the Big Freeze challenge.
Collingwood Board Member and Australian aerial skier Alisa Campin will lead a host of Australia’s greatest sportspeople in sliding into the giant ice pool before Monday’s match.

The Cure for MND foundation is aimed at raising the profile of Motor Neurone Disease within Australia and abroad.
It aims to raise the profile of Motor Neurone Disease within Australia and abroad in the hopes that increased awareness may lead to not only better care for those affected by the disease, but also increased funding for vital research into finding a cure.

Donations can also be made offline via cheque, direct EFT deposit, and credit card. To donate offline via one of these methods you can download the 'Offline Donation Form' by clicking here and mailing it to the address on the bottom of the form. All donations will receive a formal tax receipt via email.

12.00pm – The Glasshouse and Holden Centre open for match day activities
1.00pm – Neale Daniher and Eddie McGuire gather at the Glasshouse to address supporters and all those marching.
1.45pm – The Collingwood walk to the MCG begins from the Glasshouse and the oval at the Holden Centre. Our march is set to meet the march of Melbourne supporters from Federation Square outside the MCG.
2.00pm – The Big Freeze 3 takes place inside the MCG.
3.20pm – The game begins

A limited number of beanies will be sold on the day of the Big Freeze at Federation Square, the Holden Centre, and the MCG. Be sure to get there early to avoid missing out!
The Neale Daniher story
To any football follower, Neale Daniher needs no introduction.
He played 82 games for Essendon between 1979 and 1990, and was the first of the four Daniher brothers to wear the Red and Black.
Neale went on to coach Melbourne in 223 games between 1998 and 2007, leading the club to the 2000 Grand Final.
Diagnosed with MND in 2013, Daniher has continued to live life to the fullest, joining the Cure For MND Foundation as Vice-President, and becoming its official patron.
What is MND?
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is the title of a group of diseases that see the nerve cells (the neurones) which control the body’s muscles enabling movement, speech, breathing and swallowing, undergo degeneration.
There is currently no known cure for MND.
