Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury has emphatically thrown his support behind his coach Nathan Buckley as the Magpies prepare to take on Hawthorn.

The Magpies, with a 5-8 win-loss record, need to beat the Hawks on Sunday to stay in the hunt for a finals place.

Despite his club's position, captain Pendlebury told SEN that Buckley had the Pies on the right track.

"He’s got the whole group behind him. We’ve been doing a lot right but just haven’t been getting the right result," Pendlebury said.

"I’m a big fan of the way he coaches."

Sunday's match will be Pendlebury's 250th, making him the 13th Magpie to reach the milestone.
