As Collingwood begins its clash against the Bombers at the MCG, down the highway, at the newly renovated Simonds Stadium, the VFL Magpies are locked in a tight battle against Geelong.
After a scrappy start to the game – in which Collingwood dominated possession early - Geelong piled on four goals to one in the second term to head into the major break with the slightest of leads.
Collingwood forward Kayle Kirby has made an impressive start to the game, kicking two goals in the first quarter.
And despite not hitting the scoreboard, his forward counterpart Chris Mayne has been in amongst everything, applying strong defensive pressure in the Magpies’ attacking half.
Midfielders Rupert Wills and Jarryd Blair have been strong in Collingwood's engine room for Jared Rivers and his coaching staff.
