The AFL has confirmed its fixture for the final round of the home and away season.
Collingwood will take on Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday 26 August at 1.45pm.
The league sought to fixture the final round in a way that maximises attendances and broadcast viewership.
As in 2016, all teams in the top eight at the end of the season will enjoy a week off before the commencement of the finals series.
The Magpies have not beaten the Demons since the Queen's Birthday in 2015, falling four points short in the corresponding fixture earlier this season.
