Sam Murray and Mason Cox have been included in Collingwood's line-up to play North Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday.

Murray's last appearance in the AFL team was back in round nine when he gathered 23 disposals in the Pies' 28-point win over St Kilda.

He had featured in all of Collingwood's AFL games in 2018 to that point.

He has played in the VFL since then, although he had last weekend off as the VFL team had a bye.

Cox is back after missing last weekend's loss to West Coast due to a leg injury.

The big forward trained strongly at the Holden Centre on Thursday and Nathan Buckley subsquently declared him a certain starter against the Roos.

"We expect him to be right. He got through (today's training) session and has come good," Buckley told reporters at the Holden Centre.

"He was touch and go last week, but it wasn't worth the risk, because he just simply wasn't ready to go in our medicos' eyes. We expect him to be right for Saturday."

Ben Crocker and Josh Daicos have been omitted from the side that went down to the Eagles last weekend.
