The Pies' victory over the Crows at Adelaide Oval produced a host of interesting facts and figures. Here are a few that caught the eye of the crew at Collingwood Media ...
* It was Collingwood's first victory at Adelaide Oval at the club's fifth attempt. Indeed, it was the Magpies' first win in South Australia since defeating Adelaide by 26 points in round 7, 2012. Back then, however, Collingwood was considered one of the best travelling teams in the competition, as the win over the Crows was the Pies' eighth straight win at Football Park. Of the 29 venues where Collingwood has played an official VFL/AFL match, the club has now failed to win at only two of them: Toorak Park (where the Pies lost to St Kilda in round 7, 1942) and the WACA (where the Pies lost four times - three times to West Coast and once to Fremantle - between 1991 and 1999).
* It was Collingwood's first win over Adelaide since the Pies beat the Crows by 27 points in a Friday night game at the MCG in round 16, 2013.
* Star midfielder Steele Sidebottom topped 40 disposals in a game for the first time in his nine-and-a-bit-season AFL career. Sidebottom's previous best disposal tally was 38 against Geelong in round 8, 2012.
* In-form ruckman Brodie Grundy topped 30 disposals for the first time in his five-and-a-bit-season AFL career. Grundy became one of the few ruckmen to rack up 30 or more disposals in the history of the competition. West Coast great Dean Cox did it four times, with his best effort being 36 disposals against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba in 2008 (although the Eagles actually lost that game by 46 points). Freo big man Aaron Sandilands has done it once. He tallied 30 disposals against West Coast in 2009. Of other ruckmen playing at the moment, Max Gawn's best disposal tally is 27, while Toby Nankervis's is 26 and Nic Nat's is 25.
