Collingwood vice-captain Scott Pendlebury trained with his teammates on Monday morning at Gosch’s Paddock, just a day after he was knocked unconscious after being allegedly assaulted in Lakes Entrance in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who suffered facial lacerations and damage to his teeth as a result of the incident, trained for the duration of the session and appeared to be uninhibited.

He returned to Australia last Wednesday with the majority of the playing group after spending three weeks training at altitude in the US.

“It was good to put the weekend behind me, get back into the first session after returning from Arizona, and move forward,” Pendlebury told Collingwoodfc.com.au.

“I felt good and I got through the whole session.

“Now I just want to focus on training up until Christmas, and then having a break, before getting back into it in 2010.”

Pendlebury will complete the full program up until December 23, when the team will break up over the New Year period.

Collingwood's newest recruits, Josh Thomas (75), Simon Buckley (85) and Ben Sinclair (62), joined their new teammates at Gosch's Paddock.
