Update: Scott Pendlebury assault
Collingwood can confirm that Scott Pendlebury was involved in an incident outside a Lakes Entrance hotel in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Scott was out with his brother Kris and a few friends and was leaving the Lakes Entrance area when he was hit from behind at about 1.30am. Pendlebury hit the pavement in front of him and was unconscious.
He was taken to a Bairnsdale hospital where tests have cleared him of major injuries. He sustained damage to his teeth and cuts to his face as a result of the incident.
Lakes Entrance police have since charged a 20-year-old Lakes Entrance man with serious assault charges against Pendlebury.
The alleged offender will appear in the Bairnsdale Magistrates Court on a date to be confirmed in the new year.
The club will endeavour to keep media and supporters updated with relevant developments, but as this is a matter before the courts the club won't be making further comment at this time.
