It’s been one heck of a start to 2018 for Adam Treloar.
In the opening six rounds of the new season, the star onballer has taken his game to another level.
While his ANZAC Day performance took the spotlight, the 25-year-old has been busily putting together what looms as a career-best season.
In six games, Treloar is averaging a career-high 32.5 disposals, 5.1 inside 50s and 12.6 contested possessions.
He leads the club for total disposals (195), inside 50s (31), handballs (118) and bounces (10). He has also impacted on the scoreboard in five of the first six games.
His past three weeks have been particularly noteworthy.
Against Adelaide, Essendon and Carlton, Treloar collected 112 disposals at an average of 37.3 per game.
Is this Brownlow Medal-type form?
We think it could be.
The umpires clearly notice the blond-haired No. 7 when he’s in full flight, given he polled 32 Brownlow votes in his first 43 games as a Magpie between 2016 and 2017.
In fact, he finished equal-fifth in the 2016 count, earning 21 votes.
Don’t be surprised if you see his name in the higher reaches of the vote count later this year.
After 39 touches last #ANZACDay, Adam Treloar wins his first ANZAC Day Medal in 2018. 34 disposals, two goals + a very deserving winner. #FOREVER pic.twitter.com/7FxGbGRFr4
