Summer disappearing means that football season is quickly approaching.

Before you turn your attention to everything that comes with the cooler months, refresh your memory with all the happenings at the Collingwood Football Club from the month of February.

From training in the heat to the AGM in the Glasshouse, view the best photos of the month through the lenses of Collingwood Media and AFL Photos.

Heat. On and off the field.

Training didn't take long to ramp up in February as contact drills intensified and players resumed full programs.

Steele Sidebottom was at his clever best as he displayed the vision and poise that makes him one of the competitions elite midfielders.

The Collingwood heartland is filled with fond memories for the Magpie Army, but for some it is currently a chance to start afresh.

The 2016 leadership group partnered with the Salvation Army and Slater and Gordon to present five new Magpie Nest homes to residents in Collingwood.

It was also the unveiling of Brent Macaffer and Taylor Adams as leaders. “It is really rewarding to have it come from the playing group,” Adams told The Age.

Friday 5 Feburary.

Did Jonathon Marsh need a lift at the end of a long week on the track? Jesse White gave him one regardless.

They came prepared and they came in numbers. Every man and his dog (literally) descended on the Holden Centre for the 2016 Family Fun Run and Walk.

Darcy Moore was just one of the attending players who joined the Magpie Army on their walk in the sun on a Saturday morning.

It wouldn't be a February without a Community Camp. The trip filled with fun, colour and surprises returned this year with a trip to Stawell and Ararat.

A two-hour bus trip to the foot of the Grampians was followed by a number of activities with the local community.

Ben Reid raced against a Stawell Gift winner, an 85-year-old member was surprised, and Dane Swan and Brayden Maynard were just two Magpies mobbed by the groups of excited schoolkids.

The epitome of Side By Side.

Nathan Buckley takes a moment to put an arm around the injured Matt Scharenberg during a Monday training session.

When the ballers go away, the footballers will play.

Basketballer tragics Nathan Brown, Ben Reid and Mason Cox crossed the road to visit Hisense Arena on Wednesday 17 February.

They met the stars of Melbourne United, before having the court to themselves to hone their skills.

Fun aside, it was time for business at the 2015 Annual General Meeting.

The 2016 leadership group and Collingwood's new players were presented to the room, before Alan Didak and Nick Maxwell were among a number of Magpie icons presented official awards.

It returns. It may have only been an intra-club match, but there was a feeling of electricity in the air at the Holden Centre as the Magpies had their first formal hit out of the season.

Separated into Collingwood Black and Collingwood White, football was the winner as the crowd enjoyed the 90-minute contest.

Familiar faces Dane Swan and Scott Pendlebury starred, while James Aish, Tom Phillips, Tim Golds and Josh Smith made their first appearances in the Black and White.

With a trip down the highway, the real stuff began.

20,460 people watched under the lights of Simonds Stadium as Collingwood defeated Geelong in a high-scoring NAB Challenge clash.
