Collingwood Defender Amber Schutte will make her AFLW debut in Collingwood's Week Two clash against Hawthorn at Victoria Park on Saturday afternoon.

Collingwood Captain Briana Davey surprised Schutte with the news while 'filming a video' in a department store in Richmond.

Schutte was the Pies' third selection in the 2023 AFLW Draft, taken with pick 34 from the Gippsland Power in country Victoria. The defender played 16 games for the Power across 2022 and 2023, averaging 14.9 disposals and 3.75 tackles a game.

In 2023, Schutte represented Victoria Country on three occasions, averaging 9.3 disposals and 4.6 tackles.

The 18-year-old will become Collingwood's fifth debutant of the 2024 AFLW Season, joining Lucy Cronin, Muireann Atkinson, Carly Remmos and Annie Lee following their Week One debuts against Sydney last week.

The full team will be announced at 6.20pm on Thursday evening.
