Craig McRae has named Collingwood’s side for Saturday’s Round 23 clash against the Brisbane Lions at the MCG.

Defender Wil Parker has come into the side, replacing Joe Richards who has been omitted.

Richards joins Edward Allan and Harry DeMattia as emergencies, with DeMattia named as emergency for the first time in his career after being selected at Pick 25 in the 2023 National Draft.

The tactical substitute will be named 60 minutes prior to the first bounce on Saturday and will be selected from the extended bench.

Saturday’s clash will be Wil Parker’s fourth AFL game after last playing in the Magpies’ Round 21 win over Richmond.

The former cricketer turned half-back flanker was named as emergency in last weekend’s loss to Sydney and played in the Magpies’ VFL curtain raiser clash where he registered 19 disposals and took 10 marks.

Saturday’s Round 23 encounter is the second time Collingwood and Brisbane have come face to face in 2024 after the Magpies ran out 20-point winners in Round Three at the Gabba.

Jamie Elliott booted four goals, while Brody Mihocek and Bobby Hill both kicked three in what was Collingwood’s first win of 2024.

Across the ground Brayden Maynard lead all comers with eight marks, while seven Collingwood players had five or more tackles.

Saturday’s clash is Collingwood final home game of the home and away season and the AIA Vitality Centre is set to come alight to mark the occasion.

The Club’s VFL side will take on the Brisbane Lions from 12:05pm, while the March to the ‘G and a range of other activities for fans will return.

From 2pm outside Gate Two and Three at the MCG, Club Premier Partner KFC will have a food truck serving finger licking good food including Popcorn Chicken & Chips and Original Tender & Chips.
