Following the conclusion of the 2023 AFLW Trade Period, Collingwood has today finalised its AFLW list ahead of the 2023 AFLW Draft.

Collingwood forward Emily Smith has today been informed she will not be offered a contract with the Club for the 2024 AFLW season.

The 28-year-old arrived at Collingwood as a cross code rookie in 2022, after making the switch to football from professional cricket.

Across two seasons as a Magpie, Smith played nine games, booting four goals.

Collingwood’s Head of Women’s Football Jess Burger thanked Smith for her time at the Club.

“We thank Emily for her contribution to our Club,” Burger said.

“Across two seasons, Emily has brought a wealth of experience to our program coming from a professional high-performance environment in cricket. Throughout her time with us, she has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to her development and proved to be a reliable performer.

“We have informed Emily that we will consider her if an SSP spot is available following the completion of the draft process and we’ll continue to support her with any future opportunities in her football career.”

With 27 players currently listed in the Pies’ squad for 2024, Collingwood will head into next Monday’s Draft with picks 8, 9 and 29.
