Robert Rose Foundation
Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs will honour former player Robert Rose’s contribution to sport and raise awareness for people living with disability when the teams play for the Robert Rose Cup on Friday night at Etihad Stadium.
The two clubs have played for the Robert Rose Cup annually since 2000, while since 2007, the Bob Rose-Charlie Sutton Medal has been awarded to the player in the match who best exemplifies the qualities that Rose and Sutton become renowned for during their careers – toughness, skill, courage, leadership, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Collingwood has recently embarked on a new football journey, with representation in the inaugural Robert Rose Foundation Victorian Wheelchair Football League. Look out for captain-coach Brendan Stroud, who will toss the coin at the commencement of Friday night’s clash at Etihad Stadium.
Auslan with Vicdeaf: The Collingwood Football Club will also continue a proud partnership with Vicdeaf with Auslan interpretation featuring on the big screen at Friday night’s game.
The club’s partnership with Vicdeaf is aimed at providing increased accessibility to the club, and promoting greater inclusion of the Deaf and hard of hearing community.
