This season saw a range of incredibly strong contributors for Collingwood. We've taken a look at some of those who will certainly be in contention for the prestigious E.W. Copeland Trophy:

Jack Crisp

Last year’s Copeland winner is a chance to claim back-to-back trophies after another outstanding year. Averaging 24 disposals and four score involvements, he took his game to another level during the finals series. Consistently among our best and most impactful players each week, he polled the club’s equal-highest number of Brownlow votes alongside the next Copeland contender…

Nick Daicos

The son of a club legend could become only the second-ever first-year player to win the club’s most prestigious individual award and the first since Des Fothergill back in 1937. His debut season has been phenomenal – he averaged 26 disposals and almost four rebound 50s a game, notching a whopping 40 disposals in round 18 against Adelaide. The Rising Star panel judged him the unanimous winner.

Scott Pendlebury

In his 17th AFL season he became the first Collingwood player to reach the 350-game milestone and our captain is still in exceptional form – his longevity is remarkable. He averaged 23 disposals a game this season and every touch was impactful.

Darcy Moore

The defensive pillar rarely produced anything less than a superb individual display. Averaged seven spoils, three intercept marks and 14 disposals – he’s one of the elite tall defenders in the competition. If not the outright winner, expect a podium finish.

Brayden Maynard

Last year’s Copeland runner-up was formidable in 2022, earning his first All-Australian blazer. Averaged 17 disposals, five marks and four (bruising) tackles a game. The defender will likely finish in the top five again tonight.

Jeremy Howe

Following a 2021 season interrupted by injury, Howe was in outstanding from for much of 2022. He averaged 16 disposals, five spoils and two intercept marks - his ability to read the ball in flight and his athleticism seeing him play on both tall and small forwards with finesse. A vintage Howe hanger in round 10 earned him a Mark of the Year nomination.
