Pie reinforcements at the ready
Collingwood could be reinforced for its clash with Richmond after Nick Maxwell, Alan Didak and Chris Tarrant trained
COLLINGWOOD veterans Nick Maxwell, Alan Didak and Chris Tarrant trained on Wednesday and are among those rated a chance to face Richmond on Saturday night, says Steele Sidebottom.
The trio is angling to return from ankle, adductor and foot injuries respectively.
"We'll have another training session on Friday and if they can get through that, I can't see why they wouldn't be up for selection," Sidebottom said.
"I think Maxy's good off the field as well but to have him on the field just adds that much more. It's obviously exciting to be getting him back.
"Dids trained as well today so if he gets through Friday, I'm not sure if he'll come straight back into the AFL, he might go back to the VFL, but that's not up for me to choose, it's up to the coaches."
Ben Johnson, Dayne Beams and Cameron Wood could also be considered for selection after getting through last Saturday's VFL clash with Geelong.
Sidebottom said the Pies had a healthy list to choose from this week after being restricted in selection against Hawthorn in round one.
"They'll be up for selection and it's good for blokes in the team, puts a bit more pressure on for guys to perform," he said.
"It's good to get everyone back."
Defender Nathan Brown - on the comeback trail from a knee reconstruction - also trained on Wednesday and is likely to return through the VFL.
