Finals bound

With only three rounds remaining, Saturday's win has locked in a finals spot. While the run home against Melbourne, Sydney and Carlton will be no cakewalk, Collingwood (currently in third place) is a chance to finish inside the top four and earn the double chance. "Every game is an opportunity to get ready for finals," Fly said post-match. "The teams we face now are inside the top eight, so it's an incredible opportunity to see where we sit."

Record-breaking wins

Another close finish meant the Pies became the first side in V/AFL history to win nine games by under 12 points. The last time Collingwood recorded a 10 game winning streak was in 2011.

The wing king

Josh Daicos was pivotal on Saturday, gathering a team-high 26 disposals, seven intercepts, seven marks, five score involvements and 659m gained. He was named coaches' MVP and given his form this season he should be in the conversation for All Australian selection.

De Goey's impact

After three weeks on the sidelines he collected eight disposals in the first term and booted two goals before half time. He finished with 23 disposals, seven score involvements and five clearances.

Murphy's efficiency

Nathan Murphy took consecutive intercept marks on consecutive forward 50 entries for Port and he finished with 100 percent disposal efficiency from 13 disposals - the only player with more than 10 touches who managed a perfect disposal record.
