Jordan De Goey

Fly is confident De Goey will play against Port Adelaide at the 'G on Saturday.

"Jordy trained really well so we're really comfortable with where he's at," Fly said.

"He was touch and go to play last week.

"He's had a mini preseason in three weeks, which at this time of year can be a real benefit.

"We're hoping it translates into good form for him.

"He makes our team better, he's significant for centre bounces and score involvements."

Mason Cox

Cox did not train on Wednesday as he recovers from a virus (not the virus).

"He has a virus - not Covid - he's fine but under the Covid protocols we are keeping all those who aren't well out of the building."

Winning energy

Collingwood has recorded the lowest combined margin in an eight-match winning streak in V/AFL history in the last eight rounds.

"There's a belief in the group, there's no doubting that," Fly said.

"You guys get to see it on weekends and we get to see it all week (on the training track).

"There's a belief in the way we're preparing that in any situation we face, we will find a way to get over the line.

"Winning has a DNA and there's certain elements you need to get right - one of those is preparing to be successful every day, not just on the weekends.

"We've been creating those habits for five or six months now and we still have a lot of work to do."

Brodie Grundy

Grundy could play minutes in the VFL this week.

"We're hoping (he will play in the VFL), he's still got to get through training on Friday," Fly said.

"He's better prepared now to play AFL, whether or not he plays minutes in the VFL this week, time will tell."

Port Adelaide

Port have lost by only small margins to top four sides in the last fortnight.

"They've lost the last two weeks to Melbourne and Geelong but both of those games went right down to the wire."

"They have a contested brand of footy and their pressure is really strong.

"They have a lot to play for right now too, time's running out for all of us."
