Collingwood is pleased to announce midfielders Josh Daicos and Finlay Macrae have signed two-year deals with the Club.
The pair will remain in the black and white stripes until the end of 2024.
Since being selected as a father-son pick in 2016, the 23-year-old has played 67 games and kicked 35 goals for the Pies, strengthening the Daicos family name.
Season 2022 is shaping as Daicos’ strongest season yet, coming into his own under the guidance of coach Craig McRae. The wingman has averaged 20 disposals across 16 rounds this year.
His most-recent performance for the Club saw him poll a game-high seven votes in the AFL Coaches Association Player Award after collecting 19 disposals and kicking three goals in the Club’s Round 16 victory against the Gold Coast Suns.
Fellow midfielder Finlay ‘Fin’ Macrae has played 10 games for Collingwood since his debut against the West Coast Eagles in Round 5 of the 2021 season.
This year, the 20-year-old is refining his football craft at VFL level where he has averaged 22 touches per game and has kicked five goals.
Collingwood GM of Football Graham Wright said he was pleased to re-sign the pair.
“Josh has been in career best form in 2022 across the wing and half forward and at 23-years-old is an important part of our future, we’re wrapped he’s agreed to a new two year deal that will take him out to 2024”, Wright said.
“Although Fin has found it difficult to break into our AFL team, we’ve been more than happy with his development as an inside mid. Fin is hard working, diligent and committed to his own development which we’re convinced will see him push into the AFL team in the near future.”
