Darcy Cameron commits
The big man was influential in Sunday's win and signed a three-year contract extension at half time. He went on to finish with 17 disposals, two goals, six score involvements and 23 hitouts. "We're excited to announce that he has signed a new contract, it's three years and he deserves every bit of that," Craig McRae said in his post-match presser. "We're rapt with how he's playing... not many guys were marking the ball in the air like he was today."
Vintage Brayden Maynard
In his milestone game Bruz produced a performance that epitomised the type of player he is and the standard he has set in his previous 149 games. He held Toby Greene scoreless to half time and to one goal for the match and finished with 22 disposals, nine marks, nine intercepts and four score involvements. He was named Player of the Week.
This group is resilient
McRae said his side showed solidarity during a tough week at the club. "I said to the players that I'm really proud of their ability to galvanise themselves this week and support those that have been under fire and then come out and execute," he said post-match. The playing group also held on to secure its fifth consecutive win in the face of a surging GWS late in the final quarter - they showed real composure when the Giants had all the momentum.
Hosk in fine form
Will Hoskin-Elliott was superb and one of the most important cogs in our forward line. He finished with a season-high 23 disposals plus eight marks, eight score involvements, five inside 50s and seven intercepts. He's been working closely with the wingers and high half-backs this season to own the outside.
Steele still got it
Sidey also recorded a season-high 26 disposals and eight score involvements. He was red-hot from the opening bounce and had already gathered 14 disposals midway through the second quarter. He eclipsed his season average of 17 disposals and finished with five marks, three clearances and four inside 50s.
